The reason for integrating technology is to be a support and a means to the instruction necessary to meet today's standards of learning. Technology in the school can be seen administratively, for presentations, for preparing lessons, communicating, and teaching. These can assist the teacher when completing tasks, creating and planning instruction or support the teacher when lecturing and giving a presentation, enhance classroom teaching, and communication.
Technology can be a personalized, focused reinforcement for learning. Students may need more than the teacher’s direct instruction to learn, so for deeper learning, students need to interact with the material but crowded classrooms and the time constraints make it difficult for any the teacher to provide one-to-one help for every student. Technology can help students review, reinforce, and expand on what they are learning.
There are ISTE standards for both students and teachers. The teachers have to help the students reach the ISTE standards and then have to meet different standards on the teacher rubric. One of the standards from ISTE that is meaningful to me is the Digital Citizenship.  In this standard, the students understand human, cultural, Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior. This is meaningful to me because it helps students be aware of others and maybe could help cyber-bullying lessen because the students are understanding each others backgrounds through technology. Honestly, none of the ISTE standards feel out of my skill set, I believe I could accomplish any of them. I believe I feel this way because I have grown up with technology and have used it throughout my education.
I do agree with the labels "digital native" and "digital immigrant" because I have seen the differences between how me and my teachers use technology. I have often seen my teachers struggling on how to use technology and they will ask the students for help, or when something new comes out technology, such as GoogleClassroom, they refuse to use it because they do not know how. Teachers not knowing how to fluently use technology prohibits learning because the class time is used by the students helping the teachers use the technology. I think for the future this will not be as big of a problem because our lives are surrounded by technology and we always want the newest thing. I think teachers in the future won't be struggling as much.
